Typical monthly cost by type of website
Published 2026 guides from Dubai agencies give the ranges below. The more a site does, and the more it costs you when it breaks, the more its upkeep costs.
| Type of website | Typical monthly cost | What drives it |
|---|---|---|
| Brochure site | 300–900 | Updates, backups, form testing |
| Marketing site with a CMS | 900–2,500 | Content edits, monitoring, security |
| Online shop | 2,000–6,000+ | Checkout and payments, uptime, app changes |
| Custom platform or enterprise site | 4,000+ | Guaranteed response times, integrations |
At the budget end, some UAE providers advertise plans from about AED 50–150 a month for monitoring, security updates and backups, and AED 150–500 a month once content edits are included. They suit a simple site that rarely changes.
These are market ranges from the published guides listed under Sources, not Brisk's prices. Brisk's Care plan is quoted at a fixed monthly price.
What a maintenance plan should include
- Security and software updates for the CMS, plugins and the SSL certificate.
- Backups, daily to weekly, with a restore that has actually been tested.
- Uptime monitoring, so someone knows the site is down before a customer tells you.
- A set number of hours for small changes — typically 2–8 a month on an agency retainer.
- A response time in writing: about 4 hours for a site that takes bookings or payments, 24–48 hours for a brochure site.
- Form and checkout testing, so enquiries and orders keep arriving.
New features, new pages and redesigns are normally outside the plan and quoted separately, often by the day. Agency day rates for this work run at about AED 600–1,200.
What happens if you skip maintenance
Nothing, for a while. Then a plugin update breaks a form, a certificate expires, or the site is hacked, and enquiries stop without anyone noticing. One Dubai agency puts the cost of rescuing a site left unmaintained for about 18 months at AED 4,000–8,000 — more than a year of a basic plan.
How to compare maintenance quotes
- Hours: how many are included, and whether unused hours carry over. They rarely do.
- Response time: how fast someone acts when the site is down, in writing.
- Hosting: whether it is included or billed separately.
- Content changes: whether edits count against your hours, and how small a change can be.
- Monthly or annual: annual plans usually work out cheaper than month-to-month.
- VAT: whether the figure includes the 5%.
Where Brisk fits
Every Brisk site can be handed over so you update it yourself, or kept on the Care plan, which keeps it fast, secure and up to date every month at a fixed price. For build costs, see what a website costs in Dubai.
